I once took a good friend of mine fishing who had never fished before , now I've taken my son and a friends son and after setting up the rod and a few basics explained they were fine and only needed my to unhook a fish if had swallowed the hook

But my mate was a different story
I had to land every fish for him , unhook each one , un do the frequent tangles

In the end I gave up any hope of fishing myself and just stayed with him

And at the end of the day he said that fishing was ok but a bit easy

What's your experience of taking someone who has never fished before fishing

Taking novices fishing always makes me remember the things we take for granted, line management really springs to mind.
