The link you posted doesn't work, but:

Many of the older Tri-cast rods were actually far better than many of today's more "modern" counterparts.

The John Allerton stick float Tri-casts being a classic example.

I still have, and often use mine.

The worst I could say about any Tricast rod I've got my hands on would be that it was good in its day.

Thanks Sam! I will give them a good home; whether I will ever get to use them is another matter:)

The Trophy feeder rods were pretty good (and not exactly cheap.) I loved my Tommy Pickering kevlar twin-tip, which I sold to a mate in a moment of extreme madness.:eek:mg:

Give them a try before you move them on, Mike; chances are you'll like them.:)

When I was a lad I lived round the corner from the Tri-cast factory/warehouse up in Rochdale. Had a few rods made up to my own specs. If only I'd have fully understood what I had!
I just left them, and ALL my tackle behind when I went to travel the world.

I think these rods were bought direct from the factory as my late brother in law was Rochdale born and bred! Indeed so was I !

I think their factory was somewhere near the old swimming baths!

If the old swimming baths was on Duke St, then yes he may have got it from the factory.

They were on Baillie Street just beyond the cross roads with John Street. I cannot remember Duke Street! We are talking 50 years ago!

My fishing as a kid was either the cut at Slattocks or Hollingworth Lake!
