Repairing landing nets

One of my landing nets has got damaged with a treble hook whilst piking - the hook has ripped a couple of bits of netting to make the holes bigger.

If this has happened to you how did you mend the net - I've gone with strong fishing line

Soft braid might be better M'Lud - a couple of overhand knots will tie it off securely.

I too would have said braid! Ask your squire what he darns your socks with!

I have an old 44inch landing net mesh which has been mended several times using several colours of strong whipping thread left over from the days when I used to make a lot of my own rods.
My son now uses it.

why bother! if the fish is that small to fall through a small hole, why use a landing net.
