Hi - The Mersey Basin Rivers Trust and the Wild Trout Trust have bid for grant aid from the Aviva Community Fund to help build a fish pass on the River Goyt at Roman Lakes, in Greater Manchester.
The Goyt is a tributary of the River Mersey - its amazing that fish can make it so far upstream past Liverpool, through the Manchester Ship Canal, into the Upper Mersey and then finally into the clean waters of the River Goyt to spawn..... these fish need all the help that they can get!!

Our project is currently in 4th place out of 51 entrants nationally

Can you please help fish get over this weir by giving us 10 votes via this link

https://www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/voting/project/view/16-1788

It takes less than 5 minutes of your time to register and vote
THANKS

I have done that and voted, I have also blocked Aviva on my e mails as I suspect I will be receiving lots from them. isn't a fish pass something the EA should be paying for?

Unfortunately the weir was built before the EA!
'Spose the funding for the weir mitigation should come from the Government as part of the WFD remedial work - for which they already have EU funds!

Done and all 10 votes allocated. I have an account already with Aviva as several insurance products are with them
