Here's a pointer to a video on utube regarding preparing feed and fishing the punch on a whip.
I would put a link but I'm a technophobic illiterate when it comes to my computer.
If you search Derek Skinner bread punch fishing you will find it, there are six episodes in all. In my opinion it's one of the very best bread punch videos on utube.
I think he shows how it should be done.

I will watch those but I have followed the excellent blog by Rayner and there are now 3 large freezer bags of crumb in the freezer ready for next week plus a really fresh Warburtons toastie loaf for The punch/flake.

Having listened to the moving ceremony at the Cenotaph this morning I am just glad I can enjoy myself on this forum and go fishing!

Thanks mike but the blog is only my idea of punch fishing. If it works when roach want to play, a real struggle if the fish are finicky.
Derek skinners shows another way that I think is bang on.
