Hi new on this site I am 66 years old just started fishing again after a 22 year lay off used to match fish fish for a local team that also fished the nationals finding things a bit different in my day 20lb was a big weight lol

Welcome to FM. 20lb is still a good weight on the type of venues you would have fished all those years ago.
Those big weights are on commies that are OK for starters and now and again when confidence needs boosting or getting winter bites.

There seems more choice now to mix and match when the fancy takes you.

You mention that you used to match-fish - is this the sort of angling you want to get back into - or would you rather enjoy yourself? :eek::doh:

Whereabouts in the country are you - and are you a rivers or still-waters angler?
