thanks very much for your comments. I like catching predators a lot. I think spinners deads and lives all have their day! Because of issues with deep hooking trebles I am trying a season where single hooks are used, only occasionally with a single treble. The 16lb pike I just put up today and the ten lb I caught the same day were on single hooked livebaits which I think is a kinder technique generally than trebles on deads, I am trying to follow Mick brown's example a bit. I don't like to discuss the weights of big fish in forums since it causes arguments. I had a blanker last trip and twice before that, I think it is simply a question of whether they are feeding that day. Thanks again for your comments.
