Down at mums for Christmas in Hertford. Talking to my sister husband yesterday who also fishes about fishing and how tackle has come a long way since the 60s-70s
Mum overheard us talking and told me that there some of my old tackle up in the loft that got put away when I went in the navy (1977). So up I went found my first rod and reel which I have mentioned on here before a carbon tank Arial and an intrepid black prince reel old efgeeco seat box and round bait boxes a one piece waxed suit I used for fishing and my motor bike (which is as stiff as a board) some floats and barbed hooks tin of lead split shot and my prided and joy in those days Amwell SP 11’ 3 piece rod. Every Saturday morning I would pay £1 a week on a saving card in Ron chapman tackle shop in Hertford until the card had a nought saved to buy the rod…thanks mum xx
