2017 Goals & targets

First off, Happy new year to everyone, wishing you all the best!

So, as we all know, people make new year's resolutions but what are your fishing related targets?

Here's mine: I'm just waiting for the rest of my tackle in the post as I have only just got back into fishing after a few years. Once they're here I'll have 2 Feeder rods and reels, a Float rod and reel and all the terminal tackle. I will be able to fish rivers, lakes, canals and so on which is going to be great as with not going out over Xmas I feel like a junkie without his gear

My targets for this year are to catch a 4lb+ Chub, a 2lb Perch, and my first Barbel. I would also like to start and keep some digital fishing journals.

What are yours?

Any PB would always be very welcome. My most overdue are rudd (PB 1Ib 9oz taken in 1978 when i was about 14) and roach (PB 1Ib 15oz taken in 1982). Most others species PBs have gone up every few years, but i havent got close to those. Not being a dedicated specialist, but more of a pleasure angler really doesnt help i suppose.

None whatsoever. I have set targets in the past. I found that it just spoiled my fishing and made it feel like a chore.

The only target I set these days is to try to get out and fish a little more.
