Hi

I've always wondered what the rods were that John Wilson used in the early programmes before he designed the ryobi/master line Avon. They had a distinctive white crest logo on the butt, I'm guessing northwestern but all the second hand northwestern rods I've seen don't bare the same logo

Does anyone know?
Cheers LS

There is a video of john fitting a spliced tip into a rod section on you tube.
May give you some idea. John was selling the Avon rods in his shop long before he made them for Ryobi.
Are you looking for one?

Forgot to say they would be fibre glass.

Hi

I remember the episode, he also talks about float making in it. I'll try and find it, thanks. I have a collection of JW rods so yes I'm always on the look out for ones I don't have - in particular the early avon quivers with the full length cork handles and the trotter rods he put out through master line.
I'll post a few pics of the logo I was mentioning when I get in

Interesting, I suspected they were made in his shop. I doubt you see many of his early rods on the second hand market. Thanks to everyone for your help
