When the carp are spawning do tench become preoccupied with a nutritious free feast and hence go off our feed for a while?

I think all fish do,just as they do with tadpoles,on the fishery i've been on the last couple of weeks,if one of the many taddies creep out from the margins too far they are history, carp, tench, perch, pike and roach all know they're availability.

Once carp (or any other fish) have spawned most of the spawn wont last more than a day or two being eaten by carp themselves and other species its hight protein and easy to obtain and fish can become difficult to catch while they are feeding on spawn, on a syndicate water I used to fish weed would be covered in spawn one day and devoid of it the next. Its not only fish that will eat the spawn wildfowl don't miss out on this feast either.
