I found this today in a drawer with some prehistoric bulk spools of mono. The mono can go – must be 15 years old – but I was curious about this 125 yds of 4lb Berkley Fireline.

I can't remember why I bought it - must have been to amplify feeder bites from something small and shy - but I never put it on a reel.

The blurb on the back is packed with enriched bulls**t like no other line.

Before I throw it out, what would you use it for?

Location
North Yorkshire.
Don't chuck it, someone will have it and use it, they may even pay for it. It's unlikely to be any the worse for being stored. I can't stand the stuff myself, but I know a few that swear by it. Some, including myself, use braid for trotting. Some will use it for distance legering.

Don't throw it out !....give it me before you do that!!

Four pound breaking strain is a bit light for lure fishing but it's good for trotting or very light legering in a suitable venue. Only problem with it in such a low breaking strain/diameter is it will break easily if it comes into contact with an object when under pressure.
