soaking some tares in iron tablets, they ok to soak for just 24 hours or do they need longer, do I cook them in the water I have soaked them in, never seem to get mine to swell as big as shop ready tares, is there a trick
I soak them in a flask in cold water for 3 days with iron tablets then change the water for boiling water put 1 more tablet in and seal the flask for 24 hrs.
done perfectly to hook....too hit and miss trying to do them in a pan.
I just soak in cold water with bicarbonate of soda then on a low light on the smallest gas ring. If you try to cook them too quick the skins will split, making them useless.
I've cooked them with no bicarbonate and caught just as good.
