Had a recent clear out of rods and have put several up for sale as I'm moving house and have too many and certainly too many that don't get used. Got me thinking, how many rods does the average angler accumulate over time? And how many actually see the bank on a regular basis?
I'm a self certified tackle tart so I'm fully aware how I've ended up with so many, but a few were definitely not needed and definitely bought on a 'what if I need something like this 1 day' basis coupled with a general rule of n+1 where n is the number I currently have.
Also which rods could you not be without?
I'll start....
4 float rods
6 feeder rods
3 barbel rods
4 carp rods
1 Avon rod
1 spinning rod
I'd say 2 float rods, 2 feeder rods and the barbel rods are about the only things that see the light of day on a regular basis
And the 2 rods I couldn't be without are a float rod given to me by my grandad that he fished with when we went together growing up and another float rod that was a 21st bday present - both for sentimental reasons more than anything.
Interested to see if anyone else has a lot of impulse bought rods!
