I've just joined a new club and there is a rule of a minimum 55cm (22") landing net to be used.
I'm mainly targeting tench, crucians, perch, bream, roach etc. But these club waters also hold grass carp and plenty of other carp too.

So now i need to buy something more suitable. Whats peoples thoughts on 30" nets?? Half way between traditional pan net and a specimen net, so a suitable option??

I find the Korum folding spoon net in the smaller size ideal. Big enough for tench/bream size fish but OK if you hook an unintended carp.
Rubberised and dries quickly. Folds for convenient transport.

I used to have similar issues finding a one net solution and I use a 22" Drennan Specialist landing net...

I'm now on my second and can't recommend them highly enough.

I've had Carp to around 20lb and barbel to mid-double figures yet the net isn't unwieldy for using with smaller fish like Roach and Perch, and isn't laborious to use when frequently netting smaller species and it's nice and light even when wet.

Drennan have brought out some larger ones recently but the 22" copes well enough for me without faffing with masses of mesh before picking smaller fish out.

as above, same for me, an ideal size for an allrounder. Combined with the 3M Twist lock pole, a perfect combo.

Go for a net that will be suitable for what you are going to catch, I have a Daiwa Longbow Aquadry, but I think the Drennan may be a shade better than the Daiwa on shape and mesh depth. If going for a maker that does
rubberized mesh, check with club rules first to see if they are allowed, Another net to look at is Dinsmores carp scoop net,

Personally I think a 22" net is a tad on the small side to be a true all rounder.Perfect for the smaller species but though I dont doubt you could shoehorn a decent carp or barbel into it if those were on the cards I'd be carrying a bigger net. I like the Korum folding spoons too and have them in 22, 26 and 30 ins.

I prefer to use metal frame round landing nets in sizes 20” to 36”.
I don’t like any net with a cord across the front.
The make of net does not matter it just depends on whether or not you shop by name.

Thanks for the replies guys

I think i'll be ordering one of those 22" drennan nets. Its similar to one that i had considered already (daiwa longbow) And hearing that it can cope with an unexpected catch, while still being practical for my main fishing, makes me feel confident with having one
