I must be on a high dosage of clumsy pills lately. I not only broke the tip off on my acolyte plus I also managed to break a nearly new Abu 507 mk2. I bought the reel off of The Tackle Box at Dartford, but the rod I have had for a couple of years and bought elsewhere, I think I must have had a wrap around as I was packing up or reeled the float into the tip ring.

Anyway I took both to the Tackle Box, luckily the tip broke right next to the tip ring. They fixed them while I waited and charged me the princely sum of seven pounds for fixing both including parts. Bloody brilliant service.

That's great to hear Ray.
I had a really good experience with drennan a few weeks ago.
This kind of help and goodwill and help from manufacturers and shops gives confidence in using them.
I think its only right we let others know of our good experiences with them so they can also use them knowing that they'll get looked after if anything should go wrong.

My Korum chair has a series of nuts and bolts attaching arms and legs to the frame and one of the nuts worked loose last time out and fell onto the wooden peg, through the gap and into 6' of water! I emailed Preston who replied immediately and having acquired my address promised to send me a replacement nut and some spares free of charge! They cannot do better than that and I am impressed!

Mind you I have bought some Korum gear!!!

Yes Ian, we are quick to moan when we get poor service. They were under no obligation to help as I broke them myself.

Ray I have found them to be excellent too! I have a couple of their Darent Valley rods and I broke a tip by my own clumsiness shortly after I bought it! I admitted as such and they sent me a replacement tip free of charge. I just had to pay postage! Not only that but I rang from the water just after breaking the tip, they sent me an invoice for payment by PayPal which I did on my mobile and the tip arrived next day! I even put a testimonial on their site for the .75 tc specialist rod!

I have been visting the tackle box from when it was stll in its tiny shop down near Sutton at Hone and before it moved to the current location

There are literally 10X the amount of people working there now but they have always been very knowledgable and helpful.
