Below is a link to the gov uk webpage, if you download the most recent pdf if gives plenty of info and the numbers would indicate we're still on average rainfall levels thanks to a wet start to the year, plus a couple of wet weeks in May. This would answer why the hosepipe bans have taken a while longer than expected to kick in. The figures for the last month don't make good reading. There's also a basic guide to a few rivers.
