Hi all

Struggling to decide which reel to get. I do a bit of sea and carp fishing so want a couple of reels that will do for both....

1. Okuma trio Rex surf txsu 60
2. Shimano aerlex 10000 xtb
3. Mitchell avocast r 8000

I seem to be drawn to the okuma... But can't find many reviews etc... Thanks

I don't sea fish or set my stall out to fish for carp, most of my reels are Shimano, the largest being a 6010 batrunner I acquired, but over a period of time, most have ended up in the canal/pool or wherever I have been fishing, A quick rinse under the tap when I get home to shift any muck and they are still ok, I know its not saltwater they have come in contact with, but they are still being washed under a tap and left to dry. I suppose you pay your money and take a chance on a reel that you want to do both aspects of fishing,

There’s a bit of a mixture in the reels in these reels between fresh & salt water what do you want the reel for?

Salt water will F up a fresh water reel in no time

If it for both fresh and salt look for a reel that has been anodized
