Will this brutally hot Summer impact on Autumn and Winter fishing?

Weed growth both on the bankside and beneath the water will obviously create problems, as will water levels.

Looking through the photo's my mate brought back from his recc'e many of the waters we often fish are carpeted with floating weed. This will undoubtedly create problems.

Do you envisage any similar problems?

It could impact on the amount of weed we see next year Derek as any existing weed roots is likely to have spread further than any normal summertime.

It's a bumper recruitment year.....all the extra weed should have been a great place for fry to take cover while they thrive on the extra food living among'st it. Once we get the cold snaps the weed will subside as it does any other year.

If,just if we get a good soaking through the winter, flooding will clean the weed out,it has happened before, some while ago the Dorset Stour had heavy flooding which left the river devoid of weed on the tidal,it fished awful, but at least it had a clearout.
