Fishing in and around Shrewsbury

I'll be moving up to Shrewsbury from Aldershot around April / May next year.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for some decent fishing up there? I know I will have the Severn nearby which is great news as i want to catch my first Barbel. Are there any decent lakes around too?

If anyone has details of local clubs that would be great too!
