Having weighed the monster perch at over 7lbs the air was filled with the sound of reindeer bells and a bearded figure in red could be seen waving and shouting something like "Now put that in Angling Times if you dare."

Captain Carrot wrote about Big perch in the Thames a couple of years ago. He and I went to a Northern water where they are equally as big.

Reported on-line 16th December, how many of you think any of the weeklies could report it?

My guess by the time they got it ,if they did, it was too late for this weeks edition!
