Hi Guys.
I have had a few marksman rods, still got 2, and all are post 2009, and olive green in colour. A couple of years ago I bought a green( not olive) smuggler,no logos etc, which I later let a friend have.I was told it came from a hardy rep.I have only noticed one other green hardy on Ebay in the last 5 years.
I have now been offered an 11.6 green hardy float rod !
I am trying to get info on this but mr google doesnt seem very cooperative.
I can make a few guesses but hopefully someone out there knows the facts.I will be very grateful for any info! Alec
ps its a hardy marksman advanced float 11.6!

There is a Hardy Marksman Advanced 11.6 Float rod for sale on eBay it looks a bit battered and has no rod bag and tube selling for £100

The hardy catalogue only shows Marksman Specimen 11ft 6in Avon

The Marksman Specimen Avon 11ft 6in is the more powerful brother rod to the Specialist
Avon, with a faster action and more power in the butt section to suit modern methods and
bigger specimen fish.

This makes it ideal for fi shing standard feeders, PVA bags and method feeders.

The Marksman Specimen Avon isn’t just a river rod though - it can be used for countless
different uses on many stillwaters. Feeder fishing, legering and float fishing for specimen
fish are all a great experience using this high-modulus, beautifully slim Avon.

The Hardy Anti-Lock action gives the angler tremendous confi dence when playing fish close to the
net, enabling big fi sh to be quickly controlled in tight situations.

Marksman Specimen 11’ 6” Avon | Length - 11’ 6” (3.75m) | Sections - 2

Weight - 214g | Action - Through | Guides - 11 Fuji SiC | Line Rating - 6-15lb

Cheers for that Ian.
The rod I am interested in is a very bright green quite unlike the later versions. It is not the olive of either marksman specialsits or superos. I have both.
It is a bright vivid green.Just trying to find out when/ why the colour change. It does not fit into any category in the 2008 or 9 catalogues, as I have them.I know its a correct colour as its the same as the smuggler I had.
maybe i will ask hardy but I know of old they are normally clueless.
Thanks for your help. Alec

Stuck on the chuffin M25 somewhere between Heathro
Is this not the Hardy version of a short pellet waggler rod ? It might be a prototype or sample if the colour is not the Marksman olive. Ive got a 2 pc 11-6 olive Hardy float and its quite definately intended to be a pw rod.
