It's a shot of a little backwater that loops off the River .Lark in the Cambs fens. Taken from a road bridge. As a kid I used to stand in the 12" deep water in that exact spot before the bridge was built and cast back upstream into the weir pool with a legered spud or lobworm aimed at the river carp that resided in the pool, or with a dead-bait for the pike.
...More often than not we'd have slept out in the open the night before shivering under an old coat or one of those space age foil blankets, and surviving on a frugaldiet of undercooked Birdseye beef burgers, cooked on a single burner calor gaz stove, and 10 Players No.6.
