and have not heard, he has had a major stroke and is in Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge.

This happened just over a week ago and he has surgery to remove a blood clot on his brain.

The latest news is that he's doing OK, but it's going to be a long job getting back to anywhere near where he was prior to the stroke. Many months in hospital it seems.
He was able to drink some water today, first time since the stroke, so that's a positive.

Fingers crossed it's all onwards and upwards from now on.

Lin [his wife] said to say thanks to all those who have sent the many cards and wishes for a speedy recovery. Although he isn't able to take it all on-board she will keep everything so he can read through them when he's well enough. He was very moved by it all.
Should anyone wish to send a card his address is 11 Manor Crescent, Hardwick, Cambridge.Dave is the inventor of the Minkie fly and also fashioned the Floating fry pattern made from Deer hair. He has fished for England on a few occasions as well as managing the Australian team at the world championships a few years back. A great exponent of fishing the dry buzzer on Grafham [his home water] and other reservoirs. Thanks,

Colin
