I bought myself a Kodak M series. It's excellent. Battery holds its charge for months, good zoom, takes very clear pics, flash is effective, and it's very light and compact. The G9 is a great camera, but it's very bulky by comparison.

For something sensibly priced, look at the Canon Ixus range - choose the best you can afford.

I echo the phone camera posts.

Just upgraded my phone to a SAMSUNG Pixon MM800. An eight Mega pixel camera. It has multiple modes for different light settings and you can email your photos from the water side to make sure your magic photo is never lost.

We all take phones and cameras - this way you merge2 pieces of kit into 1.

A truly amazing piece of kit and free on an upgrade!!
