Maize preparation

Can any of you more experienced carpers help me out please.I'd like to try maize as hook-bait but I'm not sure on the best way to prepare it.I bought some from a local petshop,soaked it for 24 hours and then 'nuked it in the microwave for 20 minutes.The end result still seemed a little hard on the inside , is this the way to do it or have I got it wrong ?

I boil mine for as long as it takes after the 24hr soak, ive never tried the Microwave.
If its rock hard in the middle and has a bit of white flour then its not done enough.
The outside shell should be crisp so you can hook it or hair rig it and the inside should be squeezy soft, thats how i do mine.

Twenty minutes in pressure cooker after the initial 24 H soaking does it for me.
