As canals tend to have alot of crap on the bottom:
  1. Have you had more success with pop up baits rather than conventional?
  2. Have you had more success with brighter baits?

I would appreciate you experience.

Not sure they do on my local canals.

The boating activity/ lock activity seem keep the water way relatively clear.

Near me the carp are not really fished for. Simple baits and methods are best. Bread and sweetcorn give me enough bites. Surface fishing on the right day in quiet areas also works.

When it's windy, my local cut gets quite murky and alsorts of debris gets stired up from the bottom - the reason for my questions really.

I just wondered if a bright pop up resulted in more takes for people.

My local canal can be filled with crap sometimes, ive found just adding a piece of plastic corn to the top of my bait givesenough added visual attraction.

Matt...your mis-typed capital letter "C" at the start of the thread has caused some poor souls to think you were asking a serious question. Please take a little more effort with your keyboard work - it can lead to confusion /forum/smilies/wink_smiley.gif - unless CCCC enterprises are diversifying into the overloaded convenience bait market
