Totally Gutted

Got my new Daiwa SR1 pole today.Elasticated the top sections and then went to inspect the rest of my pole.

My face drop suddenly when I saw the 4th section. There must have been a defect during its production as half way up theres a small dent, which looks to me like it could weak the pole.

Totally gutted now as it means I wont be able to use it till I get it sorted, emailed daiwa and the online store I bought it from but still dont stop you feeling fed up

Had a simular problem with my Shimano Beastmaster Pro. 4th section scratched across the pole. Fortunately it came with a power section 4 so I could still use the pole, though at a shorter length as it replaced 4 and 5 sections. Up side, it only took a week to get the section replaced.

Sorry to hear that - but it could happen to any pole. When you get it sorted please could you let us know how it performs. I've been thinking about buying the SR1 myself /forum/smilies/smile_smiley.gif

Should be getting a new section free of charge next week.
