Since 911, (World Trade Center attack), many of the local reservoirs have been closed to night fishing! I have been forced to drive longer and longer distances to fish at night! /forum/smilies/crying_smiley.gif Has terrorismeffectedd your fishing? Tight Lines, ****

Are you sure these night closureshave really anything to do with that kind of terrorism? In my area when they occur they are more likely to be related to some form of "urban terrorism" if you see what I mean /forum/smilies/angry_smiley.gif

It may be just an excuse, but they say they are worried about some one poisoning the water supply. /forum/smilies/thinking_smiley.gif

Right well if that's the case...how closing any water to night fishing would effectively prevent this to happen just escapes me /forum/smilies/thinking_smiley.gif. Last year a commercial fishery has been poisoned and destroyed in broad daylight...and can anyone in their right minds believe thatpeople ready to blow themselves in a train, bus, plane or else would hesitate a split second to poison the water supply during the day....so soundsdefinitely like a silly excuse to me /forum/smilies/angry_smiley.gif

I agree, It would take minute amount of a substance and easily done in the daytime. You would think they would want honest people around as a deterrence.

Around the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida terrorism has been used as an excuse to shut down vast amounts of water in the area and to enable the cops to use forceful methods to stop innocent people fishing. We should learn from this - but we won't.

There are four beneficiarys of terrorism.
1. Politicians who get a sound-bite and photo-op from it.
2. The police who can claim extra powers and funding to 'protect' us from it.
3. The media, who get stories from it
4. The terrorists themselves who draw attention to their cause.

This last group benefit least. 'Protection' from 'terrorists' is a great way to control the population. Fear is the key. Machieveli wrote about it 500 years ago and it's still going on today.

I would say it's already been there for the last 8 years - but now there's a chance it's on it's way back. At least you now have a charismatic leader to unite behind /forum/smilies/wink_smiley.gif

The stereotype of a terrorist is somebody dodgy looking with a beard. Now if the American specialist anglers look like some of ours?

Neil Staton 2, No, Post refers to local city reservoirs, (water supplies). I hope you fished while you were here. Area is terrific for Channel cats & plenty of Carp. Do you have any plans on returning? I live in Elyria, 30 miles south east of Cedar Point, (Sandusky Bay). PM welcome /forum/smilies/smile_smiley.gif

I hate you sooo much /forum/smilies/smile_smiley.gif I'd kill to live 30 miles from CP /forum/smilies/sad_smiley.gif

No I didnt fish when I was there, I did look into it a bit on Erie, but the trouble is I like roller coasters big time (obviously thats why I flew 4000 miles to go to CP) the wife is into them too, but not as much so I have to create a vacation that she can enjoy too , but she doesnt fish.

I do fully intend to return 1 day in the near future, so if your wifes into shoppng like mine is then they can go shop and we can go fish /forum/smilies/smile_smiley.gif
