oh dear once the back legs go I think its really time it was put down. Its not fair on the chair really to use it in that condition. I think the best way is to take it out for one last trip then gently say your goodbyes to it and kill it.

Paul could you explain, (to a dumb Yank /forum/smilies/big_smile_smiley.gif), how the leg adj. should work and, apparent problem, (what happens when you tryto adjust it). Tight lines

Paul,is it the button on the leg thats gone.?

if so, cannot you drill 1/8th holes at 1-2 inch intervals along the leg and use a nail to lock it, if you follow

I hope they are more responsive than 'JRC' have been. I have sent them three emails politely asking if they sell replacement front legs for my JRC Cocoon chair as the PLASTIC folding end bits that screw onto the frame have snapped; and I haven't had a reply. /forum/smilies/angry_smiley.gif

Shame because the rest of the chair is great. But I don't think I will buy anything else from them unless they improve their customer service.

hi catfishingham, the legs have the mud feet on and pull out to exstend them, there is a leaver and a spring in side the main leg , and once pulled out,it should stay there untill the leaver is pulled up and the leg then slides back up. But whats happening is the leg goes back up on its own instead of locking, the housing on the bottom of the main leg ,were the spring and leaver is, the seems no way of getting it off,if you could get it off i could put a new leg in my self with a new bit of tubing (Hate to be beat)shame as its a nice chair Thanks Paul

I reckon the chair is a JRC one. Vale royaladvertise a Terry Hearn specialist chair and also spare legs with mud feet or mud feeton their ownfor JRC chairs (scroll down the page) I know these aren't the bits you need but may be worth a ring. 01606 46060.

Good luck with your search!

WELL Kieth, you seem to be right about JRC their service stinks, im still waiting for a mr Smith ? Paul SMith to ring me back!! I have delt with a lot of American, companys, Cabelas, Berkleys , and there customer service, is great, the best thing is not to buy JRC. Fox have bent over backwords to help in the past. I shall send a letter of complaint, any way tight lines Paul.

I have been having the same problem with my TH chair. You could try taking the 'gripping' plate out and flipping it over. You will notice the hole has a slight protruding lip on one side, I believe this is what grips the leg. Maybe scouring the gripping surface of the leg will help as well.

Failing that go on a diet! /forum/smilies/big_smile_smiley.gif

Thanks Barry, the only way i can see to take the leg off is a screw in the top of the leg, what happens if i take that out ??? if you could take the plastic housing off things would be easy-er, and im only 11stone so god help the bigger lads, the new preston chair, looks good, but when you pay £70 to£80 you exspect it to last/forum/smilies/smile_smiley.gif
