I was thinking of having a go at Hawley lake one day next week but haven't fished there before. I'll only be able to fish from first light to about mid afternoon.

Can anyone advise me on how to tackle it? I've got loads of particles prepared and was going to spod this in. Hookbait wise I have mainline Cell boilies.

I only fished it once or twice, about 20 years ago! I remember a one day session. Fought my way through the rhodies to fish a tiny little bay with an island out of the way of the water skiers and wind surfers (they still found me though). I fished very basic 12lb big game straight through on a running lead and had two commons, both low doubles. If they are still there they could be 40s now! :)
