Prologic dd bait mussel meat has anyone used it and if so what did you think?

Hi mate,no its been out a while it comes in tins of 750grams,i was thinking of getting some of it myself just wanted some feed back first,it would be amazing for eels too.

You can but frozen mussels in kilo bags from Tescos. Just defrost as many as you need and use in a mix, on a hair or on a big hook.
I have caught some big carp and the odd tench on them, but they are fragile as a hookbait, so I use them close in where a gentle lob cast is sufficient.
I prefer cockles to be honest - they are much more robust and you can hair rig them in multiples to make the hookbait as big or small as you want.

Mussells certainly are difficult to hair rig, but if it's done the right way, they can be directly hooked and stay on for ages. I can't describe how, it's years since I have done it.
