Time to get your diaries out and fill in the 6th/7th/8th September for Stoney’s Fish-in at Yateley in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief.

Tickets are the same ridiculously cheap price as last year at ?20.00 for adults and ?10.00 for accompanied under 16’s – which other world famous lakes could you fish for 2-3 days at such a low price?

Last year just over ?11,000 was raised, and obviously we would like to beat that figure this year, so we need as many people as possible to get out and about with their sponsorship forms. If we can raise over ?11,000 this year, the total amount raised by Stoney and Friends for Macmillan will exceed ?50,000

?50,000 will be a huge achievement, and if we manage it, will hopefully get good press reports both in the angling and national press. In view of this, if anyone who reads this works for a company that has a budget for sponsorship or marketing, how about suggesting this event to them as a worthwhile cause to back. Not only would it be something different for them, but it could be a very cheap way to gain some free publicity. Ideas for corporate sponsorship can be found on www.stoneyandfriends.co.uk under “sponsorship opportunities”.

The application form will be available on www.stoneyandfriends.co.uk from 17th June.

Please help to keep this thread in the limelight by posting if you hope to attend, or posting if you have any ideas on sponsorship opportunities or anything else constructive on the event.

I'll be there again.

Good laugh, good social, fantastic catering wagon and a very worthy cause.
Couple that with the chance to catch some magnificent fish and you have the perfect ingredients for a very memorable weekend.

Just to remind you all that the application form for Yateley is now available at
www.stoneyandfriends.co.uk
It is looking like demand for places this year will be high, so I suggest application forms are posted off asap.

The response/request for tickets has been good so far. It looks like the event could be more popular than ever this year, so if you fancy coming and haven't applied yet, it may be worth doing so sooner rather than later.

Just to let you know that we now have 60 people signed up, and still have 9 weeks to go. Ideally we want around the 100 mark to give us a chance of raising the money we need to break the ?50,000 barrier.
Please spread the message around to anyone you know who might be interested in the event, but may not have access to the web.

Thanks

Chris

Hot of the press from the RMC site

"Ian Welch has kindly given us the Copse Lake to use, for the event, as far as we know there are only 8 swims on there, so if you fancy a weekend fishing for bream, this is the one for you."

If anyone wants to fish this lake, when you apply, just write the lake name on the application form.

69 tickets have now been sold. Last year we had 104 people there, and would like to try and beat that number this year.

So, any help in recruiting a few more people would be well received. Pass the message around and lets see if we can get a few more people.

Don't forget, it's not just a specialists weekend, as there's something for everybody at Yateley, plus the social is great, and it's all for a worthwhile cause.

So far no one has taken any swims for the Pumphouse and Horseshoe lakes, so we have 10 swims on each of these going begging. So if any anglers fancy a good weekends Tench and Bream fishing, why not contact me and book a lake for you and your friends and join in the "Bash"

There are still some tickets left for this event. If you know any fisherpersons, who don't have access to the web, could you kindly let them know about the event.

Full details are available at www.stoneyandfriends.co.uk

Last year we had 104 Anglers and raised nearly ?11,000. We want to beat that this year, so the more people we get attending the better.
