Frank Barlow Memorial Match

The 13th Frank Barlow Memorial Match will be held on 16th September on the River Trent at Long Higgin.

Draw 9am at the Stratford Haven (NG2 6BA) Breakfast available.
£20 pools. All peg fees and monies raised from the raffle will be donated to the cancer ward at Nottingham City Hospital.

Dear old Frank, I hope it gets a good attendance though I fear most of todays anglers wouldn't know who he was, is his son, Dean I think, still fishing I wonder?

One of anglings great characters was Frank but for all that he was a good river angler, I got to watch him every year at Evesham. Constant chatter and much laughter, he tried to win obviously but he enjoyed every minute of his angling.

I never met him, but his column was the first one I looked at every time. He seemed a larger than life character and painted a picture with his description of his mates.
