HDR love it or hate it ?

it seems to be like marmite at the mo you either love it or hate
Ive had a couple of emails lately from a couple of non likers
whats your views ?

Well, it definitely works.
It does capture a good field of depth and the clarity is also excellent.
So i will say i love it, as i can't see what there is to hate about it.

It looks great, but seems to rely on several bracketed images - howdya get the dog to stay put long enough? Or do posh digcams take them instantly?

Cool - so why isn't it installed directly into cameras? Is there an element of human judgement needed, picking out which areas need their exposure changing, or is it a case of "watch this space"?

dont think it will end up in any cameras as they couldnt stitch us up could they
Alan ...........its does the whole picture but there lots of controls and fiddly bits

theres a free trial somewhere and it leaves a watermark on it but it allows you to have a play

no it has to be a Raw file or if done properly 3 RAW files
No it doesn't!

It works with jpegs as well. Whether it works as well I don't know.

Google HDR from jpegs, there's a tutorial there.

Thanks mate, I've managed to download a "special" copy that seems to be working without the watermark:wh. It's 3.2pro portable version.

I'll have a play and see how I get on.

Did you look at the Kings College UDR?? What do you think?
