Las Americas, Tenerife. Shore fishing?

Hope you can help here.
I'm off to Tenerife in a couple of weeks and i'm taking my rod and reel, ho yes, and the mrs.
I'm wanting to catch anything really, I've looked around the internet and found the odd bit of info but nothing really solid. I'm just wanting to know what I should expect to catch off the rocks, and what baits to use and avoid.

P.S. One of the rigs i've found is a float rig using rubber float stops 10m up the line. I've gone out bought the float stops, but can't see how I get them on the line. There the ones that come threaded on individual pieces of wire. Anybody know how to use them?

Open up the end loop of the wire(with a needle ) until you can push the end of your line through the little loop,then grip the stopper and pull onto the line forming a loop,then pull the tag end of the line out.Job done. these are brilliant as feeder stops as well.
