I decided to have a recce on the pike water Im fishing this season

thought Id share the walkabout ..................

I only done one tiny bit called the fingers
this is the first view you get .....................

not to bad you think until you walk out along one of the fingers and see this..............

on the way I found these ,now that is a long session

some of the swims are very over grown and Im not allowed to cut the weeds down !

and the noise from this was incredible..............................

That looks like a lovely water to be fishing at.
Is it mainly a Pike Water?

it used to be but now has massive carp to nearly 50lbs
but its very very hard water

You could have climbed the pylon for a birds eye view .....in a rubber suit
the water looks the part mate

its 70 acres and we can only fish the "margins" ,no boats allowed and no baitboats which I find very strange when the sailing boats are on but the fish only have to sit at 200yds plus sticking there fins up at me and theres nothing I can do

I will see what I can do about a guest ticket ,not sure if Ive used my quota or not

Looks nice Cakey, maybe the jungle will die back a bit giving you better access to the bank.

Loved the 'looking up the pylon' shot, I got all giddy and nearly fell off me chair!

I will be there with Cakey, been fishing it for a few years now, the part we can fish is just under 70 acres, as Cakey said, but the whole lake is around 140 acres.

Cakey has another lake of 70 acres to fish also, I am on there at the moment for the Bream and Tench. Been out spotting some fish, not easy waters, but thats what it's all about, if we can get some fish then we will have had a right result.

Cakey, I have been told that the best Carp so far is 51lb 7ozs, but then what else hasn't been reported I wonder. Both Bream and Tench go well into double figures
