Hi, I have come across a float and want to know what to use it for - a strange request I know, but ive never seen one like it before. The bristle and body of the float look like a standard pole float, but all balsa, instead of the stem its fitted with a ring and a tiny swivel, the hole thing is 35 mm long, the only writing on it is FUTURE 1 x no8 shot, anyone seen one before and have any ideas ?

Possibly a very shallow river trotting waggler which is fished over depth with the shot bumping along the gravel,or a controller float for floaters.

sounds like a trotter to me...or an adaptation of one
Here is 2 that I use, if you take away the plastic float insert & add a swivel I imagine you would have somethign similar.

They are not a new invention Billy lane designed them in the 60 & 70 to fish shallow swims on the trent, hence the name trent trotter

Cheers guys, looks like a bottom end dibber then as the trotters seem larger, this is only 35mm long including the swivel.
