I want to start taking up mullet fishing, down in cornwall, any advice on where to go, and what tackle and bait to use?

Tackle,just use standard coarse rod with either a centre pin or fixed spool reel with around 6lb test line & use afloat set up or a fixed paternoster using bread flake as bait it should do the trick.

Good advice. I'd just add that you can also use fish flesh (no skin!) and you will need to make up a bucket or two of mashed bread and any other noxious additives to keep them nosing around. Mullet are very sencitive to the tidal state - some marks only work on the ebb, some on the flood, some at extreme low water, some at high water. Just experiment a bit. And the very best time is almost invariably at dawn.
