It is with great sadness that I pass on the news of the death of Charles Landells, President of the Chub Study Group, a great Champion of the ACA, specialist angler and friend to many from his days with the LAA, and a true gentleman. Without Charlie there would not have been a C.S.G.

I received this in an e-mail to the CSG from his son Keith today:

"His funeral is on 29th Dec - before then I know he'd like me to make sure as many of his fishing friends are aware as possible. We don't know details as yet although we plan a get-together somewhere in Ringwood on the afternoon of 29th"

Any more information I'll post as I get it.

John Hepworth
Secretary, Chub Study Group.

Condolences to his family, friends and CSG.
Knew of him but never had the pleasure of meeting him.

Charles was the king of chub fishing with slugs, he use to breed them. On more than one occasion he would keep then in a bucket in the shower when staying over night at one of the CSG get together’s. As John H said, “Without Charlie there would not have been a C.S.G.”
My condolences to his family, he will be sadly missed by his mates in the CSG.

Charles - Funeral update

Receved the following from Charles' son Keith.

John H

Feel free to spread the word - the family know that dad will have wanted to buy the biggest round possible for people who knew him.

The funeral is at 2pm on Tues 29th at Bournemouth Crematorium, Strouden Avenue, Bournemouth, BH8 9HX
We then plan to congregate at ''The Inn on the Furlong'' Meeting House Lane, Ringwood from 3pm or so for a beer and a bite to eat.

For those that are email-literate, can I ask that if they plan to come they send a reply to an account I've just set up-
charles291209@googlemail.com

We need to get an idea of numbers to warn the pub and at this stage we have no idea whether it will be 30 or 130.
