OK Folks, I am looking for a decent spod rod in the ?40-50 range , any info pls , also I need a new set of scales ,I want a fairly compact set going to about 50 lbs ( I wish ) should be adequate, Cheers
Hi mate,to start with i would go for the Daiwa Vulcan-X spod rod, its quite big and stiff and so is more suited to distance casting, it retails for 80 quid but you can get it cheaper in magazines. if you use a large beach caster type reel loaded with 10lb momo tied to a tapered shock leader it should be fine.
as for the scales i would go for the Reubens but these are ?65 from Leslies of Luton. Or you could go for the new Nashlite scales for around ?50 with a built in weigh bar.
