Years ago, before kids, the Wife ventured out with me on fishing expeditions and i would like to take her again now that the kids can manage to do toast and beans, or failing that manage to drive through the nearest McSh*te.

We spend most of our weekends in the Wye or Severn valley so i would like to take her up North to border country........Grayling on the float please.

If there is somewhere with digs that do a nice steak and it is next to a "still" where such fishing can be found i would be very grateful to hear of it............PM's are fine ;)

River Dee, English/Welsh border.

Or did you mean even further north?

You get access to 6 beats with the Nantwich card Paul, all for 10 of your English pounds per season.

Skippy's right too, the scenery is outstanding,

Some options that are actually in the area suggested i.e. NORTH England/S. Scotland incl:

N. England
1) Yorkshire Rivers, esp. Upper Ure and Swale
2) Eden

S. Scotland
3) Annan
4) Tweed system e.g. Teviot.

The 'sister' site Fly Forums has lots of threads on grayling (not just on fly) and a duplicate request for info there would be worthwhile.

Hi Paul

The Red Lion at Burnsall - River Wharfe

The Cover Bridge Inn - River Ure

The Rose and Crown, Bainbridge - River Ure

Or have a look at the pubs in Hawes for the Ure and Richmond for the Swale

Most of the pubs named have fishing or I can sort you something out if you give me a bit of notice

Thanks everyone.......some superb recomendations there!!

I have to confess that the Annan has the "pull" for me, but only from a concieted "i may catch a 3" attitude :p

I have some really nice ideas to work on now.....i really am grateful!

Sean, i have a feeling the wife will plumb for Yorkshire, so i may take you up on the offer, cheers mate.

I have to repay her some way for the new boat! :)
