Is catching a smaller fish on light tackle the same as catching a bigger fish on heavy tackle?

For example, is a 10lb carp on a match rod the equivalent fight and good feeling as say a thirty on a 3lb test curve carp rod?

I dunno coz I have never caught biggy and do not have heavy tackle (well, thats what the wife said).

Even more fun at times. Can't understand people who can only fish for monsters and ignore the fun of the smaller ones that fight like stink at times.

For me the ultimate feel good experience is when stickfloat fishing the float makes that ..'plerrdum' sound on the strike the rod arches round and a large roach or decent chub is hooked on light tackle,I have never been a fan of arm aching tussles with big fish ,it is all relative Andy whatever turns you on I suppose.
