Welcome to the wonderfull world of carp fishing Wilson. The best advice I could give you is to keep it simple, it would be easy to conclude that rigs and bait are the key to catching carp. Well the truth is, they are only a very small part of the equation. Dont get wraped up in the search for a wonder rig/bait because they quite simply do not exist. The simplest way to create a hair rig is to use the tag end of your hook link as the hair. It is realy hard to describe how to tie a hair rig without the aid of diagrams, perhaps Rik could point you in the direction of a no knot set up.
