Nathan it rather depends on which sponsored angler is fishing it:), however particles can work.Use modest amounts very modest in fact , single maize or tiger hookbaits catch as does casting to showing fish but one cast not thrashing it to a foam.Have a good look before fishing as the going bait will not catch if you are not on top of them.Resist the temptation to spod regardless of what is going on about you.Try scaling down end tackle to match bait size.It is not an easy water 90% of the time and takes a bit of lateral thinking these day's.The Tench are easy though !

Hi David,

Thanks for your response. Just one question are the tench and bream located near the inlet or at the road bank?? also what baits are good for the tench as my misses is still trying to catch her first??

Many thanks
Nathan

The Tench move around , look for signs of rolling fish. A maggot feeder rod will keep Mrs Hill busy. Also don't plan where to fish before you get there things change almost by the day. Try Roy's mobile if he is away one of the other bailiffs answer it. If it is really busy and or fishing poorly look ar Hardwick lake.Same things apply as on St Johns.
