Bread & Cheese

Whilst chub fishing over the holidays I came to thinking, why are these such good baits, and not only for chub.

Neither are in any way natural to fish, but both are very attractive and instant even to fish that don't see artificial food.

Any ideas ?

Jon, I know what you mean, I always thought the same about sweetcorn, I have used it in loads of places I dont think you can find a more instant non natural bait.
..no idea why, I guess fish are just opportunists and will give anything a go that they can see or smell at least once..if it tastes good as well then they keep taking it.
