Get a chainsaw, man. And don´t shout !
(Look up shimano Europe on the internet and then into the german carp team. That guy really used a chainsaw to get a square hole into the lake and then put his rods on a pod on the ice, his brolly was put up on the bank, though ...)

Beaker, might use battery dril to drill a series of holes around parimeter, then bust with sledge. If have drillbit long enough. Probably don't need drill all the way through, just need weakin ice.
