Rig testing

A friend of mine was describing how he puts his baited rigs in the bath and uses a pump that hes made covered in netting which sucks and blows the bait(phnar phnar) like a feeding carp? If the hook catches in the net pretty much every time, from any approach then he's confident using it to fish!

Does anyone else do anything similar (or completely different) to test hooking efficiency?

I used to test mine out on my mum's goldfish if that counts Stu?

If he can't get it to work for bait testing I'm sure he could market it on one of those "other" types of website
