I am looking at giving the Kingfisher Lake a bash in April 2003. Can anyone give me an idea what to expect! I have already read the Bluebell Fishery pages on the internet.

Any info would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Barry

I think it might have changed a bit since the early 70's Monk.

Read this.
You then may understand my reluctance to recommend the venue.

Carp angler,

Having read your piece through the link I totally agree that owners who give false information about number of anglers and how a venue is fishing etc are really taking your money under false pretences. However, don't you feel that carp fishing has got to such extremes of named fish, amount of fish of certain weight and exact details of stock counts that all the mystery has gone. When I read the more traditional Carp Angling books by the likes of Chris yates and the early books by Kevin Maddocks it seems that this sense of not knowing whats out there was the part of their carp angling that drove them on and on.

Cheers

Rich

Richard I agree too much emphasis is placed on information, get on the water fish it and learn , most advice is either out of date , poor or downright misleading. Those who do well on waters like this are people who can think ahead of the rest not follow the crowd. All the advice in the world can't beat what you actually hear and see.It is how you interpret that information that matters.

The info contained was about being told that the lake was empty when it was actually full.

Carp fishing on certain (most?) waters may not have the mystery it once had, but we live on a small island and there certainly isn't that many pioneering opportunities left, although there are still one or two remaining ;o)

Cheers Rik, I dont really know, we didnt do too bad and it was an enjoyable weekend, I've only fished it once though and personally found everything alright, didnt cost me anything anyway as I was a guest courtesy of NASA, lovely location and everyone was friendly and helpful especially Tony and his good wife.

I Haven't sent anything of importance to Baz, Rik. Merely asking for a bit of background information to see if I could help the chap at all.
You have your opinion of Bluebell lakes and I have mine.
Just because you had a bad experience there doesn't mean that everybody else has.
'Be brave enough to post it in public' You crack me up mate!

Mike - I have emailed you direct.

Rik, Thanks for the opportunity to read your comments and I have suffered this problem myself!! Yes it does wind me up especially after I have travelled over 100 miles! But I believe the problem you highlighted will happen in any business that is trying to make money, I am not saying it is right, but rather expected nowadays. I am probably going to give it a go anyway - but let you know how it goes.

Brett - Thanks for the advice and offer of the PVA!!! Next time we meet, I will make sure I bring some bog roll with me so you dont have to carry your turds around with you on your feet!!!!! See you soon
