Canal Carp

During the summer months locating and catching canal carp is no problem. just find plenty of far bank cover and you are half way there. But since the end of September I Have not even had a run when fishing in shallow far bank swims or the deeper middle water. I usually lightly prebait with boilies for a few days before fishing. I think location is the problem. Are there any canal carp anglers out there with any tips on location and tactics?

I do a bit of canal fishing, in summer I go for shallow wides or turn arounds. In winter its moored boats and marinas for me
